Blogging is like...
House Cleaning! The problem is, I don't do it for a long time and then it takes forever to catch back up! I think I missed some summer stuff... a trip to Breck with the DeSutters was in there too... sorry, it all starts to run together! I hope to keep up from now on... maybe...
Today actually.
Emily placed 2nd today in equitation and dressage! Way to go Em! She rode with 6 other riders in equitation and 5 in dressage.
Yes, there are photos, but I've been doing this all day people! Same kid, same horse... insert red ribbon instead of blue.

First Day of School!!!!
Aren't they the cutest kids ever?! Yes, yes, they are!
Emily started 4th grade and Ryan started Mother's Day Out. So far, Ryan's favorite thing to do at school is wash his hands in the tiny sink which he went right in and did on the first day! Emily is loving her class and her teacher. Good luck this year kiddos!

Happy 2nd Birthday Ryan!
It's a Party, a real, actual party! Thanks to my mom for helping me cut and glue and decorate. Thanks to my dad for helping take pictures and play with kids. And, thanks to the bakery for making a cake so I didn't have to! We really had so much fun and enjoyed having all our friends over. Ryan's favorite things are construction trucks or diggers and the color orange! He got a new tonka truck for his birthday that he insists on pushing all over the house every day... which is darling even if it is sooo loud accross the wood floors! Please, no comments on the Christmas trees still by my front door... apparently, nagging doesn't get them taken down... so why not decorate them with party truck ornaments? :)

Summer Fun - Part 3 At the TOP
We marked the end of the summer with visit from my parents. The highlights of which was taking the cog railway to the top of Pikes Peak, and Ryan's birthday and the kids' first day of school which warrant seperate blogs. Here's some shots from the cog! As you might be able to tell, Ryan has become increasingly attached to his Scout and night night bears... don't touch them!

Summer Fun - Part 2 Camping
We went camping!... In the rain!!! woohoo! After a rough and rainy start, we had a great weekend in Breckinridge camping with friends from church. We camped in tents with our friends Aja and Jaime and their daughter Ella, and the Keyes family stayed close by in their camper (genius!). It was a great weekend of making memories and apparently sleeping through hurricane like winds and storms (thank you Ambien!).

The whole crew took a bike ride down Vail pass and back into Frisco. We saw some wildlife and beautiful scenery along the way. The kids did great, Emily biking and Ryan riding!

We hiked up past the kids pond at the BOEC, up peak 9, and stumbled upon some diggers, and snow mobiles, and the ramps to the ski park... fun, fun!

Summer Fun - Part 1 TX Trip
We had a crazy busy summer this year! (maybe that's why I never have time to blog...) It all started off with a trip to Texas in June. We travelled to Houston then went Nana and Paca's house in Corpus, where we explored the activities and spents HOURS and HOURS in the pool. Then, it was back to Houston where we stayed with Renee, my grandmother Helen, my parent's at the lake, and my cousin Stephanie. Brian was able to join us for about a week and a half of the trip... Here's some of the highlights!
We had a fun time at the aquarium taking in all the shows and checking out all the fishies!

While we were in Corpus, we took the kids onboard the USS Lexington. Maybe we have a future fightor pilot in our family?? Brian and I are looking forward to going back again when we can spend a little more time exploring the ship. Ryan loved the planes on deck but tired out pretty quickly.

Nana give Ry his first ice cream cone... yummy!
Ryan was so fun to watch on his 1st trip to the beach!

The kids and I got to stay with Aunt Renee for a few days. Emily enjoyed playing with her cousin Lydia, and Ryan enjoyed feeding his cousin Henry! ;)

We had the pleasure of attending Cheryl and Greg's wedding... somehow, all I have pictures of is the kids dancing... no bride or groom! It was a pretty ceremony at the RP gazebo and reception at the country club. Here's some of my favorites of the kids getting down on the dance floor.

Emily had a great time fishing with Poppy and we had a nice time hanging out at their lakehouse relaxing with the alligator (wish I had picture of that!)

We had lots of fun at Cousin Steph's house playing with all of Beth and Luke's fun toys! Hopefully we didn't do too much damage, there was some dry cleaning that had to be done after we left!
