John 14:1

Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me.
John 14:1

So I love it when God sends you what need when you need it. This was the verse for this morning's devotional from Pastor Jeff Wells. In light of all that is going on with Lizzy and all my fears, I thought this was perfect.

"I find this so tender of Jesus.
It is the final night before Jesus is crucified. His disciples are devastated. “Where is he going? Why is he going? I thought we would all launch the kingdom! What will happen to us?” They are overwhelmed, riddled with fear and confusion.
Tenderly, Jesus speaks directly to their fears. “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God. Trust also in me.”
Jesus cares. He cares about your fears, my fears. He urges us to choose trust rather than worry, to choose faith rather than fear.
We have a choice about worry and fear. “Do not let your hearts be troubled.” We can choose. We don’t have to succumb to the fears that attack us. It’s not like we are in a strong river current and we’re pulled along against our will.
No, we choose faith. We choose trust.
When you are assailed by fears, pull out this verse and remind yourself of the words of Jesus. Words of trust, words of rest, words of peace.

Words to you."

Super Busy Weekend

Why is it that you never have anything to do unless you have everything to do?! This weekend was tons of fun and very busy for all of us. Friday was the toddler olympics at church. Saturday included the Foster Appreciation Day, Woodsedge Fall Festival, and Grams' 80th birthday. Then Sunday we went to baby Traymond's 1st birthday party. So Busy! Here are some of best shots! Enjoy!

The Toddler Olympics!!

Foster Parent Appreciation Day!

Lizzy pets the goats

Emily pets the llama?? I think....

Daddy pets the deer.... sorry Brett!

We got to bottle feed the baby calf. When Lizzy realized it was a bottle, she bent over with an open mouth and tried to take it!

Woodsedge Fall Festival - There was lots do: bounce houses, arts & crafts, face painting, and carnival games, but we played at the playground.... go figure. :)

Tagged again!

Grab the nearest book.Open the book to page 56. Find the fifth sentence. Post the text of the next two to five sentences in your blog along with these instructions. Don’t dig for your favorite book, the cool book, or the intellectual one: pick the CLOSEST.

ha ha... K, the book is New Guinea Tapeworms and Jewish Grandmothers: Tales of Parasites and People... no joke, it was the closest!

"In Vietnam the main foci of malaria are in the hill and mountainside forests, the vectors being A. maculatus, which breeds in exposed hillside streams, and A. balabacensis, which lives in sunlit standing collections of water. Removal of the forests' shade created new breeding sites for these mosquitoes. The fighting in Vietnam prevented the NAS committee from doing research on the ground in the highlands, but when the group flew over the deforested mountain areas, they saw the kind of landscape typically colonized by these two efficient vectors. And American soldiers fighting in the Vietnam highland forests were indeed severely afflicted with malaria, the attach rate in the units being as high as 53 cases per 1,000 troops per day."

That oughta teach you to tag me! :) And, I am not tagging anyone else because you've all been tagged and I don't know anyone else on here yet!

Tagged... arg.

Alright fine, I'll post for the tag. So sad really... it takes a tag to get a post... sixth folder, sixth photo... pretty cute if you ask me!

So, this is Emily on the beach at our resort in Disney World. We went there for her 5th birthday last year. The hotel was beautiful and set on the lake so there was a pool and beach right there....

I would have at least cropped so you could see her better, but I didn't know if that was in the rules :)
